Regardless of your role in our community, you can intentionally engage with and support our older community members and those providing care for them. Within every sector, there are significant ways to shape or influence decisions, policies, systems, plans, or discourse that can improve the journey of aging or caregiving in our communities. We are all aging – all sectors in our society and individuals and our Northland communities are impacted by aging. And we are living longer now than we ever have.
Purpose
Why does diversity in aging matter? In fall 2021, a collaboration of Minnesota businesses partnered to create a series of events highlighting the differences in aging and caregiving experiences…
Land Acknowledgement
The Northland Diversity in Aging Series Team recognizes the land we currently live and work on originally was and continues to be the homelands of Indigenous people.
-
We currently enjoy access to this land because the land was ceded in a nation-to-nation treaty process between the Anishinaabe and the United States government.
By recognizing Indigenous homelands, we accept our shared history and make a commitment to shape our ongoing relationships with justice and reconciliation as our guiding values.
Resources
We’ve put together a helpful list of general aging resources with info and links for more details about each.
